 "As you plan for the year, plan having a digital skill also."

Gone are those days when we sat round the burning fire and listened to the tales by moonlight. From time immemorial, man has been driven by his curiosity to know about what is unknown. This birthed the idea of technology, and learning how it works is synonymous with learning how the modern/contemporary world works.

 

Technology is itself not static; it evolves. Hence, we can talk about digital technology. As the world has gone digital, in order not to be left behind, there is a need for digital literacy. 

 

The advent of the social space is one that has plunged our world into a quantum leap, as virtually everything you can think of has gone digital. Even brands and companies have gone digital in order to maintain relevance.

 

There would have been a point in our lives where we had surfed the internet for remote jobs, just to keep up with the financial responsibility that knocks frequently at our door because of the economic miscarriage that envelopes us in our dear country, only to be disappointed because there was a need for a digital skill or digital literacy. The next question that stares us in the face then is "how do we go about it?"

 

A time will come when our university certificates will lose their relevance and digital skills will take their place. It would do you a great favour to yourself and humanity to brave up to the challenge of having a digital skill or being digital literate so that the world would not leave you behind. Many digital skills abound online that you can choose from, ranging from graphics designing, UI/UX, WordPress, e.t.c., just to mention a few, and trust me, with consistency, you will hit the track.

 

A word is enough for the wise. Include having a digital skill in your plans for the year.

Where war begins, there can't be war without bloodshed; when World War One started, you thought that was all. We read about World War Two and saw how war affects society and how war affects the economy. This then begs the question: can war be justified? Can war be ethical? If you trace your war history, where warlords and war dogs perpetuated war crimes, you would conclude that war can never be justified. The genocide by Hitler that wiped out more than six million Jews is a perfect example. The war-like situation in Ukraine, where hundreds of thousands have been forced to flee their homes and seek shelter in neighboring countries, War is not freedom because it's the innocent that bear the consequences.
