David, the man after gods own heart was supposed to be at war but got carried away by the lust of the eyes and lust of the flesh which culminated in adultery with Bathsheba and murder of Uriah her husband. He was reproached by God through prophet Nathan, but instead of justifying his actions as King Saul would have done, he was penitent and this birthed the famous psalm 51. David from verses 1-4 acknowledged his sins as he asked God for mercy, knowing fully well that God's judgement is right and in verse 5 acknowledges the state of original sin: "for I've been guilt-ridden from birth, a sinner from my mother's womb". Reading through the psalm, one won't but acknowledge the state of brokenness of David as he accepted his sins, felt sorry for them as he asked God to purify him and give him a new spirit. It is important you know that the observance of Ramadan is regarded as one of the five pillars of Islam which lasts 29 or 30 days from the sighting of the crescent moon to the next sighting. After the Sunday evening Mass, I sat down facing the crucifix, but my mind had left the four walls of the church. I was trying to say a word or two of prayer, but just couldn't find the right word to use. I could only make a deep sigh and say: Jesus mercy, Mary help.   In trying to get things right and stand upright, we've made so many decisions, some that favoured us and others that backfired, but then, it would seem as if the negative outweighs the positive. Recently, I was at the P.T.A organized by the school where I tutor, but it was surprising that focus was not on money. This was supposed to be a norm, even though there was a notice of increment.  "Make haste"  Everybody wants to be successful, only a fool would think otherwise. But then, success is not magical, nor is it an Eureka moment ; it is definitely a process in which we have to to plan and work towards. Planning towards success is the first step towards being successful, just like an house construction, it is the foundation in which every other actions rests on; without planning, other actions would be misty. Planning gives a layout of what our actions would be, it gives a sense of purpose; but then, planning is the most sweetest and easiest part in the equation of being successful. Ideas are written in jotters and journals, shared amongst friends, relatives and loves ones, fantasies are built in the wind, but be sure, it doesn't end there. Your road to success would be terminated and end up being futile if you don't act on the plans that you have set for yourself. Be all you can be now by acting on your plans and not folding your hands. Make haste.
